    Works for rabbits too…
Puts out plenty of heat to keep our rabbit warm on winter days. The chain is nice and in our set up, it works. Wish it had a “clip” option you could attach to the cage.

    So far so good
As of now I’ve only had the lamp 2days… it seems to work as it should ( I’ve only used the 150W setting) it arrived on time and is as simple to connect as it is for a toddler to cry.

Okay heating for a small coop
I bought this heat lamp to help keep my small coop / pet area warm during colder nights, overall, I’m pleased with it.✅ What I likeThe unit feels solidly built, the aluminum housing seems fairly sturdy for a budget lamp.AmazonThe heat output is decent enough to offer a noticeable warming effect (on the lower 175 W setting, or higher 350 W setting if needed), which is good for smaller enclosures or winter-time use.AmazonThe simplicity is appealing: no fancy features or bells & whistles, just a straightforward heat lamp that does its job without fuss.⚠️ Downsides / What could be betterThe construction feels somewhat “old-school”: the design uses an air gap rather than more modern insulating materials. As a result, the exterior shroud tends to get hot, it’s a reminder that you need to be deliberate about clearance and placement.Because the front grill is fairly open, you wouldn’t want to hang this near anything loose or flammable (bedding, hay, feathers, etc.) there’s a real risk of debris flicking in or shifting close to the hot surface. That’s just a nature of the design, so you need to plan accordingly. The heat is effective, but “good enough,” not “wow.” For larger areas or very cold conditions, it might struggle to keep the space cozy; it works best for small enclosures or modest-needs setups.🎯 Verdict — 4/5For small-space heating, coop use, or budget-oriented setups, this lamp performs solidly and gets the job done with no fluff. If you need heavy-duty heating, extensive safety margins, or want a modern, insulated housing, it’s not a high-end solution. As long as you’re aware of the design’s limitations (hot shroud, open grill, moderate heat), it’s a functional and reasonably priced option.

    Decent heater with debatable claims
Although advertised and purposed for a chicken coop heater, one can find many uses for this heater around a farm, which would probably warrant having more than just one.On the downside, this heater is advertised as UL certified. BEWARE that there are a few discrepancies with that claim. As I once worked for a major motorized scaffolding manufacturer, I have first hand knowledge of UL, its policy and various listing categories. There are: UL Listed, UL Classified and UL Recognized Component. I won’t go into the differences but they can be researched easily. UL requires manufacturers to obtain the corresponding UL label and copyright logo from authorized third party suppliers to be place on such products and cartons, to be in full compliance. Manufacturers want to display these markings on product as it lends credibility to their products. I see no such labels on the carton or on this heater. At best, this heater may use a UL compliant integrated component in it’s manufacturing, and claim UL certification. This is pretty typical, but that falls way short of a UL Classification of the completed and finished product. Typically, the cost involved for a UL listing is cost prohibitive for such small profit products, which is another dead giveaway. And if it were, it would have to be re-certified if you so much as used a different screw in its manufacturing.Aside from that, the heater seems to be well constructed and should function for its intended purpose. The 3 star is based on unsubstantiated misleading claims.
