Is this heating pad safe to leave on overnight or when we’re not home? I’m concerned about overheating or fire hazards.

My 12-year-old dog has arthritis – will this pad actually help with his joint pain? What temperature is recommended?
Yes! The gentle heat is excellent for soothing arthritis pain and stiff joints in senior pets. We recommend starting on the low or medium-low setting (1 or 2) and observing their comfort.
How chew-resistant is the cord? I have a teething puppy who chews everything. What happens if the cord gets damaged?
The cord has a tough, industrial-grade chew-resistant coating. It completely covered whole 7ft power cord. We still recommend hiding the cord. If damaged, stop use immediately and contact our support team for assistance.
How waterproof is it really? My cat occasionally has accidents and my dog tracks in mud – can I wipe it down easily?

I recently got this indoor heating pad for cats and dogs, the 24 x 18 inch size. I got it for my cats and it’s large enough for two of my medium sized petite cats to lay on together or one of my larger cats to stretch out comfortably. It’s also a good size for kittens or a mama cat with her babies to keep them warm if it’s cold.The description says it has an ultra plush cover, but I wouldn’t say it’s ultra plush. It’s soft, but you can feel the heating elements if you press down hard enough. One thing I think the company could improve on is making the padding a little thicker so you don’t feel the elements inside. I do like that the cover is machine washable, and while the heating pad itself isn’t, you can wipe it down with a damp cloth. If you need to disinfect it, you can spray and wipe it clean easily.I like that it has a chew resistant cord and that you can control the temperature. The timer can be set for 4, 8, 12, or 24 hours, but you do have to turn it on manually each time. It says it heats up to 104 degrees, and the warmth feels even across the surface, including the center and edges.I don’t see the wattage listed on this unit, but I’ve used other heating pads made by different companies when traveling in my RV. They’re generally low wattage, but they do drain power, so just be aware of that. I use them with my Jackery power banks, and they will use up energy, so it’s a good idea to have a backup power source to recharge. These are great to have as a backup in case you run out of propane, your furnace goes out, or if you’re boondocking without heat. It’s nice to know your fur babies can still stay warm.I also got this because my home doesn’t warm up evenly in the winter. It’s an older house, and the wood stove doesn’t reach the back rooms very well. The cats usually sleep in the front part of the house where it’s warmer, but I like to set up heating pads in my room or the cat room so they have the option to stay cozy there too. I also have a few of those heated cat houses that I use for indoor cats only, and they really appreciate having those. It gives them a warm little space where they can relax and feel safe. I look for these kinds of products because they’re a cost effective way to help keep your cats warm during cold nights.If you’re getting this for outdoor cats, I wouldn’t recommend it because you have to manually turn it on and set the temperature. For outdoor setups, I prefer the pads that have simple on and off settings, since you can connect those to a smart plug and set a timer.Overall, I’m pleased with this product. It’s soft, dependable, and the heat is consistent. It keeps the cats warm and comfortable, and I’m happy knowing they have a cozy place to curl up when it’s cold out.

Well-built heating pad, with a cool electricity-efficiency trick up it’s sleeve
This heating pad seems very well-built, with a trick for efficiency even better than heating blankets for humansRight away, I was impressed by how sturdy the pad was, with heavy-duty inner layer under the removable washable cloth layer, and then reinforced cords that were solid but still flexible.But specifications and features aside, with multiple temperature and timer settings, the manual had this interesting guideline: “If your pet is not on the heating pad, it will not feel warm enough when touched. IT IS NORMAL! While your pet is lying on the mat, the temperature of the lying areas will gradually rise to the set temperature range”.We plugged the heating pad into an outlet electricity monitor to check this, and observed that the pad doesn’t just use a lot of electricity to pump out constant heat, because the electricity usage didn’t go up or down as we turned the temperature setting higher or lower with the mat just sitting there. This is great, because somehow it only heats up when needed when there is actually a pet on the pad. That means it’s not sucking up and wasting electricity heating up the room, nook, barn, etc if my pet isn’t actually there to use and appreciate it. Once I put my hand down on the pad, and held it there, or when our pet laid down on it, the warmth built up slowly, just like the instructions said.So, for this innovation, and for the testing where of course it is a good heating mat, I’m pretty impressed.

A True Comfort Spot for Senior Dogs After Cold Outdoor Time
My older dogs really hate the snow and cold, and they tend to get stiff and sore after being outside in the winter. This heating pad has honestly been a game changer for when they come back inside. It gives them a warm, cozy place to immediately settle in and relax while they warm back up.The size is generous and works well for giving them enough room to stretch out comfortably. The heat feels steady and soothing, and the adjustable temperature and timer settings make it easy to tailor it to their needs. I also appreciate that the surface is waterproof and easy to wipe clean.

Works well but my dog and cats are not into it…yet; kind of on the thin side
I think this is a nice pad but so far my dog and cats don’t care too much about it. I’ve left it on and put it right where they normally lounge and play and no one seems too impressed with the heating capability of it! Maybe it’s not cold enough yet for them, I don’t know. I think they WILL like it at some point.The cord is chew safe (I think). It’s wrapped in steel so it’s a good deterrent for most pets. The heat is adjustable and it does feel warmer as you lie on it (I tested it out myself and I like it even if they don’t). It IS soft but it’s not very cushiony. You can feel the heating elements (wires) through the cover. I’ll probably put a blanket on top of it, thin enough to allow the heat to be felt but thick enough to cushion the feeling of the wires. That will be better anyway because I can just toss a blanket in the wash instead of removing the cover which I always hate doing.The timer is a nice feature, especially if you’re likely to forget that it’s on, which is totally me. The convenience of an auto shutoff gives me peace of mind; I’m not suddenly worried that I left the dog blanket on while I’m out to dinner and won’t be home for several more hours. Not that I’m out to dinner all that often these days, but you know what I mean!Anyway, I mostly like this item and I do think my menagerie will come to appreciate it more as the cold winds blow. I hope it keeps working for a few seasons. Sometimes this kind of thing doesn’t last too long. If that is the case, I will update this review, I promise you. I’m very good about that!
