Very Tasty Gift for Hikers
Very Tasty dessert! We tried it at home in our kitchen to see if we would want to gift it in the future to our hiking backpacking friends and family. The answer is yes; there will be temptation to try it again.

Pudding, not cheesecake
So this is basically pudding. There is no cheesecake flavor I could pick up on at all. Not a bad flavor though, just like some kind of chocolate pudding you’ve never tried before. Nothing fancy. I ate it all and it gave me no issues in upsetting my stomach. More cookie crumbles would have been a plus, the packet is miniscule; those tasted like like an oreo cookie. I tried it at home and I used the bag like it would have been used if I didn’t have a bowl. In doing so, I missed quite a bit of powder in the bottom cracks. If you’re eating this somewhere where you have access to a bowl, I recommend pouring the powder out of the bag and into the bowl for whisking.

Taste and convenience are excellent
This is one of my favorite freeze dried meal. It’s spicy, rehydrates well and the pieces are bite sized and perfect for on the go. I’m a travel nurse and I work 24 hours 7 days on and 7 days off. You never know what kind of situation you’ll walk into when you’re going into someone else’s home. I love these because you can eat it right out of the pack and all you need is hot water.

Lovely for a sweet snack camping
Doesn’t really have that cheesecake flavor. Has a chocolate pudding texture with a cookie crumb “crust” that you add in at the end. Enjoyable, but I was hoping for that slight tang with cheesecake.

My favorite reward snack!
I do my fair share of hiking in various environments with all sorts of terrain. One thing that I keep consistent is my last evening meal before my (usually) long hike out is a good one. I often lose weight quickly when hiking and find that by day 4-5, I’m running low on go juice. My plan is usually to have a fairly easy day prior to my final push off trail. I pair that with my heartiest meals of the entire hike.This dessert is how I cap off that day. It’s so good and filling. I can make it after I’ve broken down my stove or even if it’s raining. Once I even ate it as my last breakfast because I knew I had a short but strenuous hike out. I just haven’t found anything I like quite like this.Now it’s basically chocolate pudding mix with some cookie crumbles so don’t go thinking you’ll serve this off trail and impress anyone. Still for a trail dessert … yummy!

For desserts these were great! I was not expecting these to taste like they were supposed to but they were very delicious. I could eat these all the time. We went on a hiking trip and yes they are very easy to prep, very light, and very tasteful!

I’m planning on taking one of these on a weekend hike later this month, so of course I had to buy two so I could try it out before I hit the trail. This is a surprisingly delicious treat. The consistency is basically pudding with crumbled cookies mixed in. I’d say it’s a cross between cheesecake and chocolate pudding. It’s important to note that it’s very rich. It says two servings on the packet for good reason. I ate a whole packet because it was delicious, but I felt like I was oversweetened by the end. It’s too much snack for one person. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing just plan on saving some or sharing with someone. Overall I’d say this is quite delicious and I know it will be an excellent treat after a day of backpacking.
