Great to give your dog the freedom of a zip line
I ordered this for family camping events, as we often have up to 6 dogs to manage in one group camping area. This stout 30ft tie-out cable looked to be capable holding more than one dog on the line at the same time.Pros:• This easily held more than one large dog at a time (at times we had 3 on it)• The black cable is very easy to see, especially in a dirty or dusty environment• It’s also perfect as a simple tie-out for a large dogCons:• One recommendation: Closed end connectors would have been helpful, as we lost the locking carabiner in the dirt somewhere the first time using it. Luckily, we were able to do a group search the following day, and found it.

I have a 70lbs Black Labrador Retriever who is my Service Dog. Her and I live with my wife in an apartment complex. So, we do not have a backyard that my SD can just go outside and run around freely. Now enter the tie out cable. We have a large grass lot that is across the street from our building, we take her there to allow her to sniff and play. We have a heavy duty tie out stake, portable, that we take to the empty lot (and other locations) to give her freedom and play. I wanted the 30′ cable because this gives her 60′ of length, this allows us to play fetch and gives her plenty of sniffing area. I chose the pink color thinking it would be easier to see and my SD is a female. I was right, the pink is a nice shade and it is bright enough you can see it.Positives:- Pink color is bright and can be seen in the grass and in lower light- Reflective color, reflects in the dark for safety- 50′ length, giving her plenty of space to be a dog- 360 degree spinning swivels at each end so your dog dont get all wrapped up- Easy to wipe clean or to hose down, this is important to us since we use it on the goNegatives:- Carabiners are small, a lot smaller than I expected and smaller compared to other brandsThe carabiners being small was surprising and concerning. Since this is designed for ‘large’ dogs the carabiners should have been at least one size up. If it was not for this, this cable would have been perfect. It is still a good cable, however, keep this in mind as you’re using this.

Sturdy as heck, good price, perfect length… this one’s a keeper
So… my wife trains border collies. Currently we’re at a low of just one, but he is a border collie.We find that the narrow steel cables are the best answer both inside and outside for lack of tangling, being chew-proof, and just generally the strongest available, though on a longer one outside you need to only use them on dogs which are wise to the length and don’t throttle themselves by running full tilt against them and jerking their necks hard. With border collies that dog-IQ issue isn’t a problem and we can trust our current boy to respect the tether.We have multiple mounting points inside our home, as there are a lot of times you don’t want to crate a dog, but also don’t want him having 100% free roaming when you’re doing other stuff. These range from 6′ through 15′ generally.Outdoors is another matter, and as long as there’s sufficient room for him not to get tangled on a bush or tree, a long lead gives him plenty of square feet of roaming space, safely away from stuff he should be safely away from.This lead, as you can see, we’ve given 5 stars. It’s robust enough to never break. The vinyl coating is perfect, at least to start out. The crimping at the ends seems well-done. The attachment carabiner and other end are double-secured, which we’ve learned to value over the years, and they are impressively strong steel.This is a great lead to give an 8-year-old male BC a bunch of sniffing and playing freedom while still limiting his access to the rest of the yard and house. We’re glad to have it, and find it to be above-average in all respects and fairly priced at $22 as of this review.If our opinion changes, I’ll return to this review and revise it. As of now, we recommend this.
