Anyone who has outdoor cats knows that a big challenge is keeping wild critters from being attracted to the cat food, while still providing the cats with multiple small meals a day. This feeder solves the problem perfectly. I adjust it to offer just enough kibble that the cats eat it up without leftovers to attract wild critters, several times a day. I was worried at first that the sound of the dispenser would scare the cats, but it is a pretty gentle, non threatening noise. My cats don’t mind it one bit. In fact, they come running when they hear it. I like that you can easily adjust the amount of food that comes out so that you can increase the volume when the weather gets colder and their calorie needs increase. The storage capacity is perfect for two cats, I’m not constantly having to refill it. Each cat gets their own bowl with it’s own food supply, so no fighting. There is a cute voice recording feature that you can use to call the cats in for mealtimes. I ended up turning that off though since the sound of the kibble falling into the bowl is enough to get the kitties running. This would also work well for feeding cats while you are on vacation, the batteries are very long lasting and I haven’t noticed any issues with the kibble failing to be dispensed unless the batteries were dead or the storage tank runs out. The storage tank has a cat proof lid so that they can’t just bypass the timer and gorge themselves. This was a good investment, I have no complaints.

UPDATE this thing works very well
It was easy to assemble and program but 2 serious problems with this unit. 1) it only dispenses a few morsels of kibble no matter what setting you use; 2) it did not dispenses at the scheduled time. UPDATE – after wating a few days after my initial interaction with this device. I decided to take a third look at it and discovered a mistake that I had made when I initially programmed it–I had set it set on AM when it should have been PM. Rookie mistake, mea culpa. After correcting my error, this thing spits out the kibble when scheduled. The other thing i noticed was that while it only dispenses a few morsels of kibble when you hit the “feed” button, it still dispenses the programmed amount of kibble at feeding time. It took several tries to guess the number that would result in the amount of kibble I wanted to be dispenses but I eventually got there. The amount of kibble dispenses “manually” with the feed button is quite small so you often have to press it multiple times to get a proper serving but for me that’s no big deal. I sheepishly but wholeheartedly change my former 1 star to a 5 star review.

Everything Great but loses time
I take love this feeder. I’ve seen some other brand family and friends have. This one doesn’t to over not can the cats get the lid off like the others brands I’ve seen. I’ve multiple since I have 4 cats. The only reason it doesn’t get 5 stars is that it slowly loses time. Which is admitting when you have multiple feeders dripping food at different times for multiple pets.

3 years, and going strong.
I’ve owned this for 3 years now. Has worked perfectly, including during brief power outages when the rechargeable batteries kick in. I use it as a small portion supplement dry feeder for my cats between normal wet feed meals. I know they’re not starving, even if my daily schedule is interrupted, and I’m confident I’m managing their daily caloric intake well. It’s easier to resist the treat-begging guilt!

Go for it
Works very well indoor and out. Easy to set up/adjust and customize. I will say it is NOT racoon proof – Not a flaw of the design, more a testimony of racoon ingenuity. I had this outside and built a simple wood enclosure that was screwed into our porch – That did NOT stop the critters from trying to get in but they were unable to. As an inside gadget, perfect. Definitely keep batteries in it in case of power outage so there’s no lapse in feeding times. Love the USB power. The custom feeding message is helpful; there’s some pavlovian power at work there.

This feeder is great! No more cats under foot each time I enter the kitchen. Cats have learned the schedule and allow me to enter/exit kitchen at will. I increase the servings in order to travel, the pets are fine. I have 2 cats and the feeder is sufficient to travel for up to 10 days. But I use it all the time, just feed smaller servings. Really was a game changer for me

Good feeder for two.
I’ve got two kitty boys and one likes his groceries much more than the other. One of my boys was always getting pushed out and not getting much food when they had to share a bowl. Separating them to eat didn’t work either.I read reviews that it is very loud when the food drops and I did notice it the first few times it fed them, but became used to it very quickly, as did the kitty boys.I use the voice recording feature so my boys can hear my voice even when I’m not at home.There was no mention about how much food a “serving” was so I had to get online and search for it, then after I set the desired food portion/number of servings, measured the food in each bowl. It can differ slightly from right to left bowl and from feeding to feeding but not enough to be an issue.When setting the number of feedings and servings/portions, you can’t delete unused feeding settings so you just have to set them to zero and click through each one every time you want to change the feeding time or portion. It would be nice if you chose the number of feedings per day then it only gives you that many to set the time and portion for.It has a clear viewing window in the center that indicates when the hopper is getting low and needs to be refilled. That is a nice feature.The stainless steel bowls are easy to remove and clean and keep hygienic.The only thing is the slope from the hopper to each the bowels is not at a steep enough angle and food crumbs accumulate there and needs to be cleaned frequently.I would definitely buy it again.

ORIGINAL REVIEW (after 1 month of use) – “I am very happy with the product. It works well with Royal Canin Veterinary Dental food which is shaped almost like a cube with the large side having 13 mm square sides and the depth having 9 mm sides. It probably works because these kibble’s are all very uniformly sized and are very solid and do not break up at all in their journey from the top of the machine to the bowls at the bottom. Regarding those that complain that some food accumulates under the spouts, my cats have no problems with this and in one swipe of their paws they move the food back to front of the bowl. My last criteria for a successful purchase is longevity and reliability and I really hope that this thing works many years and that I can depend on it for small weekend trips away from my cats.”UPDATE – After 5 months of use I must conclude that this machine is not reliable enough for me. Over the last few months it has been occasionally blocking (probably every 2 or 3 weeks on average) which necessitates manual intervention to unblock it by emptying out all the food and pushing the blocked kibble out (there’s usually just one piece that seems to be causing the whole blockage). This makes it unsuitable for use when I go on vacation and so I am currently looking for an alternate solution that will work with my relatively large sized cat kibble.

Funciona basante bien. Es fácil de programar, solo estuve midiendo las porciones y ajustando a lo largo del primer día de uso. Tengo una gatita, ya sabe y se queda esperando a que salga la comida 😀 También me gusta que tenga opción de poner uno o dos platos, puedo adoptar otro gatito y servirá para los dos.
