Rough Start, but ended up a Winner!!
This is the FOURTH ‘self cleaning litter box’s I’ve tried, and this one’s the winner. Initial rough start, but Tech Support (via text, best route) sorted that. What’s Great:1) Open Top plus Good size: Much safer, especially for skittish cats; or done-based / ‘spin-based’ options = controversial cat safety (Google it)2) Double Pass ‘Raking’: Raking is better than the ‘dome based spin’ ones (which basically sift clumps & put into bin. As we all know, the moister clumps will stick). Raking systems are better & Purrtek Light will do a second pass to dislodge & dump any clumps that it ‘skewered’ on the 1st pass.2) Nice Size dump bin, easy to maneuver for cleaning.3) Infrared Sensors Good, including on raking component i.e. raking will stop if it detects motion (works well)4) Extremwly quiet & slow – which is very good! My meek/skittish kittens are not afraid of it at all!5) Raking prongs are silicone covered except for tips, nice touch.6)East to take apart & clean plus option to add a cover (not my preference, open top is safest as ‘last resort / cat can jump out’ optionThe Not-So-Good (but not enough to remove a star):1) The app for the Purrtek Light vs the newer dome/spinner models is neglected a bit. Hello, some of the menu options are in Chinese (!!) Once I worked with Support I got it to work for exactly what I need. But would love to see the same level of sophistication for the app across all Petcove models, especially since this open top raking system is FAR superior to the 3 others I’ve tried.Overall, HIGHLY recommend this & I hope it holds up over the long term.

Simple yet effective
I liked this design because of the open top and the similarity to the traditional litter box. I had purchased a more expensive automatic litter box which I LOVE, however my cats are reluctant to use it. They are still hesitant with this one, but I’ve had more success. It can’t tell the difference between the two like the other one, it tracks daily usage and how long they are in the box. It’s much larger than the pictures indicate, which is great for my 15 pounds cats. You can manually clean by pushing a button or using your phone, but it also auto cleans and you can set that up for a time after use. I did 10 minutes.Update – I’ve had this for about two weeks and the cats are getting more used to using it. Make sure you don’t over-fill the litter box, or the mechanism will get blocked. It does seem to reduce the amount of kitty litter.

Great product and excellent customer service
I purchased the PetCove automatic litter box in August. Within the first month the rake came off the track. I contacted PetCove customer service. Fantastic customer service! They sent me a replacement unit and it has been working great. I appreciate the life time warranty on the litter box and how wonderful customer service is to work with if you have a question or a problem with the unit. 😊

A good device with potential for improvements
Overall I like the litter box, good price, easy to clean, and simple design. We have a very very picky cat that refused to use the other two litter robots, but he was able to accept this box right away given the very open top design, which is a huge plus.We do have a couple of issues with the box: 1. The clay litter will stick and form a paste on the bottom of the box and form a muddy puddle if the litter is too low, or get stuck if litter is too high, we use fine grain corn litter fixed the sticky issue 2. The app has room for improvement: I wish it report the time stamp when my cats visit the box, I wish it push a message to me when the box get stuck at error mode so I can go fix the stuck situation, I wish it tells me when waste bin is full.

A game changer!
So far, I love this and my cat seems to also! I unboxed this and left it empty for a few days to allow my cat to explore it before putting it into use. She would climb into to it and sit. I then filled it and turned it on but also left her regular litter box until I was sure she would use this. It only took 1 day for her to begin using it! So far, this is working great. I set the app to clean after 20 minutes. You can also tell it to “clean now” in the app, if needed, or push a button on the unit to clean without using the app. It is quiet and does exactly what it is supposed to do! I can check the app and see how many times my cat has used it. It is easy to check the bag (located at the front of box) to see when it needs to be changed. This has been a game changer for me! I had a stroke several months ago and don’t have use of my left side which made getting down and scooping the old box difficult. I had to depend on my granddaughter to come and clean the old box, which didn’t always happen on my time-frame (or my cat ‘s) lol. With this automatic box, it stays cleaner so both my cat and me are happier. I can easily change the bag myself when needed. Just open the drawer in the front and voila! (I still need my granddaughter to fill the litter.) I’ve only used this for a short time, but so far it works great! I have not had any problems with feces sticking to the rake like others have reported and thus, it operates very quietly. (although my girl also is very neat about covering her business. She doesn’t kick it up all over.) I use Dr Elsey’s Ultra litter which is the same litter I always used. Seems to be working very well. After a few weeks of use, this is well worth the price I paid for it. I’ve recommended it to other family members with a cat. I must say, it is larger than I expected, so it does take up more space, but that is not an issue. Also, I only have 1 petite cat, so can’t say how it would work for multiple cats or much larger cats. If you are on the fence about ordering this, I say just get it! It is much more affordable than other automatic boxes out there. I am extremely satisfied with this.

Does the job so I don’t have to.
So far so good. He has no problem using it. A good clumping litter is important as well as delaying the clean a bit after he uses the box. That way it picks up everything.
