Wonder why we wanted so long!
Let’s start with we have 3 cats, mama and her 2 babies, which require 2 litter boxes. We started with the 2 traditional litter boxes using the fresh scent, clumping litter. The cats loved it but the litter was expensive, made a mess, dust all over and very wasteful.The next upgrade was the pellets. The best thing with this was the cost. Pellets are a quarter of the price at your local farm store. Plus the dust of the litter was gone. The bad part was one of the babies did not like stepping on the pellets and had a bad habit of not covering her poo, that caused an odor. Also, we had to invest in 2 stainless steel litter boxes, which was costly. They require a 2 level grate system which allowed the urine to dissolve the pellets and fall through the grates, then you only had to scoop the poo.Now we come to the part of “Why did we wait so long?” Answer is, we didn’t know. This machine is fantastic! It works in the opposite method of your traditional litter box. Pellets will not work in this system because they don’t clump. As it self cleans, the outside drum rotates around. This allows the unused litter to fall through grates into another section, while the poo and the clumped urine remains. Rotation continues to the next phase which opens up a hole to the bottom collection basket. Where the collected poo and clumped urine drop into the waiting bag. The final phase continues the rotation back to only leaving cleaned litter left in the drum. Ready to use again. The litter box signals your phone app that it has just been completed. There’s sensors built into the box which prevents it from rotating when a nosy cat is peeking inside. We set the delay to 15 minutes after detection before a cleaning cycle starts. This allows time for the litter to clump up fully. The app notifies you when the basket is full. All you do is pull out the basket and toss the litter bag inside. This has simplified our life, making it so easy to maintain with less work. The space it uses is just slightly bigger than our prior litter boxes.This is a must for all cat owners!

Pretty nice automatic cat litter box
I found the assembly of this litter box to be pretty straightforward, and I like that it can also be taken apart easily for cleaning. Once put together it looks nice enough to sit out without being an eyesore, and I ended up adding a small stool at the front to make it easier for my cats to step in and out. The design feels solid and the interior is surprisingly spacious, giving my adult cats enough room to turn around and get comfortable while using it. The included liner does a good job at preventing litter from sticking to the inside, so clumps get removed cleanly during the cycle which keeps the box tidy with minimal effort on my part.One of the features that stood out to me is the “kitten mode.” With this mode the box does not automatically run a cleaning cycle until I manually trigger it, which has been helpful not just for young cats but also for introducing mine to the unit without scaring them. When the cycle does run it is not overly loud but it is still very noticeable, so I tend to be aware when it is in progress even from another room. The motion feels controlled and deliberate, and I have not had any issues with clumps being left behind or the mechanism getting stuck.The app integration has also been useful, especially the night mode that lets me set a start and end time for when it will not automatically run. This gives me peace of mind that I will not be woken up by a cycle in the middle of the night. The status notifications keep me updated if the trash bag is nearing full, and swapping the bags out has been simple. For me this box has been a combination of convenience, safety features, and thoughtful design that makes it easier to manage the less pleasant parts of cat care while keeping my home cleaner and fresher.

Not for Our Cats
This item is $300 at time of review, making it an average price for an automatic kitty litter box.This is somewhat difficult to review as my cats just didn’t take to it at all. It is easy to assemble and seemingly easy to use from the human side (assembly, monitoring, cleaning). Aesthetically, it is not an eyesore.I have two large Ragdoll cats, 7.5 years old. They won’t use this. They seem to not like the higher entry point, that this makes noise or that it’s so enclosed. Their size is better accommodated by the jumbo rectangular boxes they’re used to using. Maybe they’re too old for something new.I am glad that I had the opportunity to review this product as I’ ve been curious about these machines. It’s just not for our cats. Also, I don’t find high quality stainless steel litter boxes to be that difficult or time-consuming to scoop and clean, so I’m not sold on the need for this type of device for any household.
