Clean & Moisturized
The shampoo is light, easy to apply and suds up nicely. The scent is very accurate to the aloe/cucumber description, but not overpowering. My little guy has sensitive skin and gets itchy. Baths make it even worse unless the shampoo is gentle and moisturizing. This shampoo has helped with the pre-existing itches and didn’t cause any additional itchiness. He didn’t end up quite as soft and fluffy as he did with the previous shampoo that we were using, but he’s clean and not scratching, so it’s a win!

Love a Lavender—Scented Doggie!
I ordered this Roofus probiotic dog shampoo, conditioner, and deodorizer in order to try a new, more natural product for my two Pekingese doggies. Mitzy (the mother) is approximately 12 years old. Izzy (the daughter) was five years old on August 1, 2025. I adopted both doggies in September 2020.Years ago, I started buying a good product at a local farmers’ supply store. It doesn’t have a strong scent, or much of a scent at all, but it is gentle and seems to work well. However, I decided to try this new pet shampoo.1. I love the lavender scent of this shampoo. It does seem somewhat strong, but it is pleasing. Plus, the scent seems to still be on my pups for a good while after the baths.I used this shampoo after it first arrived, and I liked it. It smells good and it seemed to leave their fur soft. I then switched back to my old “tried and true” shampoo for a couple of washings. Today, I returned to the Roofus shampoo.2. I really appreciate the natural ingredients in this shampoo—-lavender (I actually grow some of that in my flower beds); chamomile; coconut oils; aloe; cucumber; and probiotics. Those ingredients should be good for my dogs’ skin. According to the product description, this shampoo is safe to use weekly.3. This shampoo is ph balanced, hypoallergenic, and provides relief for itchy skin. My dogs’ skin looked good today when I bathed them, but relief for itchy skin is always a good thing. Sometimes smaller dogs develop skin allergies to things like grass.4. This shampoo does seem to lather well. It is thicker and creamy in texture, and when you add water, you get a great lather. I try to keep the lather going for about 10 minutes on each dog. I apply the shampoo rather liberally, but I think that I could likely use less shampoo and still have a very clean dog.Overall, I really like this shampoo for the lavender scent, the natural ingredients, and the way that it leaves my dogs’ fur soft to the touch. I plan to purchase more of this shampoo when I need to reorder. Please see my photos showing the shampoo bottle and two cute, clean pups!UPDATE: one day after their baths, I can really see and feel a huge difference in Mitzy’s fur. It feels softer to the touch and Mitzy shed much less after her bath. Usually, I joke that I have enough fur to be able to build a new dog. This after-bath brushing yielded only one brush full of hair. I was well-pleased with these results! It was also much easier to brush Mitzy. I plan to continue purchasing this shampoo and conditioner for both my girls. Great product and definitely recommend!Please see my photo of Mitszy’s back and head while she is sitting beside me. Pekingese have a double coat of fur which makes it more challenging to shampoo and dry.
