The Extreme Weather Kitty Pad Petite outdoor heated kitty pad is an essential source of warmth for any cat that spends time out doors. Its internal thermostat keeps the surface nice and warm even in the coldest of temperatures. Place in a shed, garage, barn or anywhere your outdoor kitties spend time. Only 25 watts is all that’s needed to keep the indoor or outdoor pet warm and comfy even in the coldest of climates. We’ve cleverly rounded all the edges to take away a chewing surface and even capped the cord entrance and the first 18” of the power cord with steel. Holes in the 4 corners of the pad are the perfect anchor points to keep the pad in place. Screws can be used to anchor the pad on wood surfaces or wired in place for wire floored cages. One year limited warranty. This outdoor heated cat bed has been tested & certified by MET Labs to exceed USA/CA electrical safety standards. Measures 9 X 12 inches and uses 25 watts.

Safe, economical, and WARM.. what could be better? We LOVE this!!
This is the first rigid pet heating pad we have had and we are very impressed. K&H is the ONLY brand we trust for warming our outdoor rescues and we bought this to give additional heat in a larger shelter when the temps drop sub zero. I don’t doubt this could be used to lie on, but because it’s stiff, we chose it specifically to use vertically on one wall and could immediately feel the difference. It’s not too thick and it’s very durable. Nice small size adds extra heat with little power consumption. We love that it’s a nice warm neutral color, perfect pick!!The only way this could be better is if it were a two pack! Thank you K&H for continuing to deliver safe and trustworthy heat for our friends. We regularly tell others yours is THE brand to buy. You have our anppre and allegiance.

Nice and Warm, instantly. Can be felt from 18” away.
Man, I stressed about this purchase more than I should have. A stray cat chose my yard for the winter and I scrambled to improve my winter cat house (he utterly cannot mingle with my indoor cats, but I’m not letting him die out there in the snow).DOES IT WORKYes. It’s not even hard to tell that it’s on. After I hastily assembled a new chicken-coop-style cat house, I drilled and filled a hole for this K&H Pet heating pad. I wired it up to my garage. In the video you’ll see that my 20’ Yellowjacket extension splitter cord is stretched to the max. Forgive me this oversight, please. Did it turn on? Yup. I sealed the electronic junctions inside snowproof, modular j-boxes and by the time I confirmed that power was flowing (I visually checked a breaker light) the pad was warm to the touch. When I opened the cat house roof, heat wafted up at me. These people saying they can’t feel it are nuts. This thing kicks, and I’m 100% sure it’s safe and the perfect temp and all that jazz but you should know that it’s not just, like, lukewarm or whatever. I bought the smallest model, and this thing will probably melt snow beneath the elevated cat house floor. There’s zero chance my stray friend won’t notice the heat every day as I put his food bowl next to the heating pad’s wall. The warmth is abundantly clear if you put your hand within a foot of the cat house exterior.Unless something goes terribly wrong, I think our problem is solved. Good luck! I hope your heating pad works as well as ours.

Works great!
I bought this last winter for a stray cat that comes to our house every night. We live in Michigan, it gets very cold. This “pad” is rigid and that’s so the freezing temps don’t destroy it ( I found out the hard way what freezing temps does to a soft sided heating pad), so she hardness of it is necessary for below freezing temps. I didn’t buy the cover for it but we use a blanket over it. He slept on it every night. I love the timer option and the temperature option, and the fact that to doesn’t heat up until the cat is actually on it. It definitely works well! Highly recommend.

I ordered another, it is that good!
So, you’re reading reviews and see it has high returns. Let me help you decide.I’ve been using this for a feral cat for the past several months now. I am in northern Michigan so we know cold.It is a hard shaped heating pad, or more precise, it’s a heated platform. It does not have any bend to it, so plan to have it covered for soft seating and laying on. I have this one between layers of a cat bed (thick wool, foam, and fleece layers). To touch, it doesn’t seem like much warmth could get through, but I’m reassured (by feeling the bed once the cat left at my entry) that once the cat is on it, the pad warms up under him. No, not just body heat…this cat is getting warmth. Not a lot to overheat, but enough to get that chill from 20° temperatures off and ward off shivers to maintain body heat. The pad seems to cycle off when the cat is not on it, then cycle on when he is on it. I have not seen any change to the electric bill to say it has much, if any, cost to operate.I have ordered another to put under a pet cushion on the front deck as a secondary feeding area (he eats more in the winter and we are not over feeding in his shed to invite unwanted visitors after dark). I’m hoping this second warm spot will have him slowing down to eat at night and feel no need to rush back to the shed to get warm again.Seriously, get this if you have a cold feral. Just know it needs a cover and flat surface. It’s weatherproof, chew-proof, scratch-proof and great. Get it.

Not at all what I expected
When I opened the box and saw this hard plastic heating thing, I gave serious thought to returning it. I bought it to replace the heating pad in one of K&H’s heated houses that only has 1/2 the pad heated. This pad is thick and it is hard. I sat it on my counter for a couple of days to decide. We are getting 8 degree weather this weekend so I plugged it in to see what it would do. It gets quite warm. It’s plugged in in the garage with blankets on top right now. Mama cat has been laying on it. An insulated house will be coming before the harsh weather this weekend to put it inside of. Leaving the other houses as is since Steve has started using them and it takes him forever to try new things. I was upset at first that there was no covering. This is not inexpensive for the size. But it is very well made and does the job well. I’ve often wished I could put a heated pad in the straw hutches. Without a covering, this would work for that.

Great for feral animals
I bought this for the comfort of a feral cat. This is much better than a fluffy bed because it is rigid plastic protected and reinforced cord and can be cleaned easily for an animall that comes and goes. For a feral cat this is a more functional and hygienic than a fluffy bed that would have to be washed.

Wasn’t really what I expected as I’ve purchased a couple before in the past decade but worked extremely well with no issues and is still in good working condition few years later as I write this review

My cat still loves to go outside. So we set up a foam insulated cat house, it is lined with wind proof blanket as well and this heat pad with a timer. It heats up at 730 am and my cat goes out and in there to just chill. It keeps his paws toasty and he even sleeps in his house. Our temperature dropped to -16/-28 with windchill.. it keeps him warm. Of course we call him every 20-30 mins to come in we dont want him just being outside for too long.
