Pet Dental Wipes 4 Small Hands
Jasper Dog & Cat Dental Wipes are a well-thought out product in most respects. I’ve always used a soft bristle, child’s-size human tooth brush with baking soda or fruit-flavored human toothpaste to clean my dog’s teeth. That’s worked out fairly well. After using Jasper Dog Dental Wipes, I can say that disposable wipes are a better tool. With the wipes, I had more control cleaning the dog’s teeth. I could feel whether I was getting the teeth clean to the gum line and that I wasn’t missing any teeth. Using just a finger with a wrap seemed less invasive for my dog, as well. The wipes come in a sealed plastic jar that reseals to keep moisture in. The wipes are papery feeling, but tough enough that one wipe lasted through the entire cleaning and was still intact when I was done. Both sides of the wipe can be used. One side has slightly raised texture for scrubbing and removing tartar. The other side has softer bumps for general cleaning. The wipes are saturated with stuff to clean teeth, freshen breath, and prevent plaque and tartar build up. There’s baking soda, cetylpyridinium chloride (antiseptic that kills bacteria that creates plaque & is used in human mouth wash), green tea extract, aloe vera extract, Manuka honey and more.Do these wipes clean a dog’s teeth? I have no doubt they do. In fact, I’d say they do it better than a toothbrush & plain baking powder. I’ve just starting using these, but even with a couple of uses, I can see that it’s reducing plaque and freshening the dog’s breath. The bottle recommends daily use for best results. I’m sure that would be true but my dog get’s his teeth brushed 3-4 times a month. And that’s unlikely to change.Jaspar dental wipes cost 27c each (60 for $15.99). That’s a pretty good value. There’s a lot of convenience in having a pre-moistened, disposable wipe. The biggest negative with this product apart from the fact that the company uses the term “furbaby” on the container? Jasper Dog & Cat Dental Wipes are too small for the average man’s fingers. I’m about about 5′ 10.” When I buy gloves, I buy large size, not extra large. I was only able to use the Jasper wipes using my pinkie finger. That was a tad awkward & made it more difficult to achieve a good cleaning angles for my dog’s teeth. So, I’d recommend Jasper Dog Dental Wipes but only for people with relatively small hands.

Hopefully will prevent Bichon gingivitis
Convenient way to brush the dogs’ teeth without dealing with a pet toothbrush. These get used almost daily, while the toothbrush and pet toothpaste are done weekly. These at least can get more of the surface area of the tooth quickly, as they pull away too much while trying to use the toothbrush. Then it’s just a hope and a prayer it cleaned anything. They seem to enjoy the taste, and one of the dogs doesn’t mind having her teeth cleaned this way. But the other dog hates it. I guess maybe more use of the toothbrush and she’ll change her tune.

Got Rid of Stinky Dog Breath
These are easy to use right out of the jar. You just slip over your finger and rub on your dog’s teeth and gums. They didn’t have much of a smell, so I can imagine the taste is pretty neutral–which is good because some dog’s are very picky. You can’t really compare it to canine toothpaste quality and brushing, because there isn’t anything that deposits off of the wipes. But the effectiveness of the product is very good–it gets rid of the film on teeth and eliminates stinky breath (at least until the next cleaning :)).

Has Little Grippies on Them
These dental wipes are easy to put on and use. They come in a screw top jar so you can store them easily without them drying out. They don’t really have a strong odor (I can’t attest to taste). These have little grips on one side which I thought would be good because they’d probably clean better but my dog does not like them. He’s been okay with other dental wipes, but these he kept trying to hide his head under me so I couldn’t use them. I’m guessing it’s the grips, but maybe it has a stronger taste. They do seem effective, and what doesn’t work for one pet may be amazing for another.

Cat doesn’t like it
One of my two cats has had dental issues for most of his life (he’s 16 now); a few of his teeth had to be pulled at the vet’s because they were causing him pain. After that he was way better, but to hopefully keep it that way, I decided to try these dental wipes out. Obviously it’s hard to use these on a cat, even my super docile cat that is hardly ever bothered by anything. He always turns his head away and tries to run. Maybe he thinks I’m gonna give him medicine or the pressure hurts his sensitive mouth. Not the wipes’ fault. The wipes themselves seem to be well-made and smell nice (the container with all the wipes in them smells like chemicals, but individually they don’t), and I like how there is a different texture on each side. Despite the title of my review, I’m giving full 5 stars because they do work; I think I just have to use them often and try to get my cat used to them. Those of you with a well-trained dog might have an easier time.
