I would like to personally find the creators of this box and give them a kiss on the forehead
These people are geniuses! This keeps one of my cats (the smart one) entertained for HOURS at a time. It’s so enriching for her and she never gets bored of it. My other cat is literally too stupid to get a single piece of food out (he’s a sweetheart but he’s not very bright). The second I built the box he looked at it and went “oh i’m not smart enough for this” which is perfect cuz he’s kinda chunky and the smart cat actually needs like twice the amount of food as the dumb cat. So I just feed her an extra scoop of kibble every day in this thing. (Sometimes the dumb one will get a piece of kibble that falls out when I’m pouring it into the box- that makes him very excited. Oh to be so blissfully ignorant)She has learned to ask for more when she’s hungry (she’ll meow at me and then sprint to the box). She seems SOOOO much happier having this box in her life. I think she was a bit bored without it.Back in June the box got infested with ants (do watch out for that if you leave food in there) and I threw it out. She was so bummed/bored without it. So I quickly got her a replacement. One thing I’ll flag: the flaps on the bottom can trap food- like they’ll get pushed up and food will get stuck underneath them. (I think this is partially what attracted the ants). When I bought the second box, I glued the bottom flaps down and it’s been a HUGE improvement. She’d not getting frustrated by trapped/stuck kibble and no ants have come for the box thus far!

Awesome treat puzzle!
I have to say, this is also a puzzle for humans, since assembly is required, but the company’s assembly video was very easy to follow. This is a great treat puzzle for cats. Mine figured out how to use it right away and were actually able to get treats out with some effort. I was concerned about that after the abysmal failure of a fabric carrot puzzle I got them that was so impossible, and made them so hopeless, that they wouldn’t even eat treats straight off the floor anymore. But this one is great! They can both use it without arguing over territory since there are 6 sides and many holes. They cooperate nicely together. Our smaller cat figured out she could stick her entire head into the biggest hole on the top, so hopefully her dingbat antics won’t result in a cardboard mini crisis. This puzzle does slide around a lot on linoleum, so I put it on a silicone mat to keep it from moving, which seems to work quite well. If you want to preoccupy your cat for awhile, I recommend this puzzle. It will keep them entertained at snack time.

Perfect for Scavenging and Entertainment
I bought both the hex box and the mega box since we have 2 cats and I thought they might want one each. I’d say they mainly play with the mega but it’s nice to have variety and options. Both the hex and mega have a problem for our specific use case: we don’t feed our cats dry food, wet only (not raw), so we wanted these to give our cats dry food as treats. The problem is that the dry food is too small and gets stuck at the bottom lip of the box. It’s even hard for us humans to take them out. Since our cats are such fiends for dry food they’re tenacious enough to keep trying. Originally they did get very frustrated. You’re not really supposed to take it apart after you assemble it since you might crack/brake the cardboard if you do. It’s a small downside for us since we would’ve liked to clean it. We still can– but the number of times we can disassemble/reassemble are low before it breaks (maybe 3 times?). If you just leave it be, which we have, it’s very sturdy. We haven’t had a cat puke in it or any accidents, so thankfully we haven’t needed to clean it inside. The paint is water based I believe, according to the CEO, and meant to be nontoxic for cats. It’s strong, holds both of our cats, 7lbs and 11lbs.I wrote a review about the magnetic wand from the same company, Cat Amazing, in which I raved about their customer service and CEO. My delight is extended to this product as well. The CEO had suggested using freeze dried treats since they’d be bigger, easier for the cats to take them out. We don’t feed any freeze dried treats or any raw food, and specially now with the bird flu concerns we definitely won’t be.Despite it being harder for the cats to retrieve their “treats” which is just small dry food/kibble in our case, we and the cats still love it.

Watch video to assemble, super easy
Love cat amazing Hex! This is our 3rd cat amazing product. Both of our cats enjoy hunting throughout the day. Hex gives them a mild challenge with a solid reward. The holes are perfect paw size and swiping shape. The two levels make it fun to hunt from the bottom (our black cat) or sit on top and dig (our orange cat). We had a better result after reading the cat help guide the first time we used cat amazing sliders- it told us to put the treats on top next to the holes so the cats would accidentally bump the treat into the box and that would make the cat more invested in getting the treatment out. After our cats learned by trial and error how to dig and shove the box they became pros. We then went to dropping the treats into the box while they listened and watched. We also had to start with larger treats (easier to see and grab) like freeze dried duck cubes. Some people suggested toys and we sometimes use coil plastic toys or cat nip scented mice but the cats have to watch the toys be put in. Now that we have expert hunters we use a mix of duck cubes and greenies. We liked cat amazing sliders but our orange cat figured out how to flip it on the side causing all the treats to fall out. Cat Amazing Hex has not been flipped yet because it’s shape prevents it. The fumblers inside the box also provide a better movable obstacle for reaching the treats (super fun to bat at) than cat amazing sliders. The box material holds up to constant batting, shoving, sitting on and jumping off. I would recommend Hex to anyone with a bored indoor cat. And last thing, watching the video cat amazing provides on how to build the Hex box makes assembly super easy in minutes. Without the video it is not as intuitive.

It was easy to assemble. You can add small toys inside if you like. So far, my cat is not bored from this toy.
