Hot stuff-the best choice!
We live in Michigan’s UP so it gets quite cold. These warm up our coop nicely so it’s not so frigid for my 12 chickens. The 250 watts is the perfect strength for our coop.

More uses than chicken coops
These lights put out just enough heat for my application. I bought them to use in the fresh water compartment of our Class A motorhome, to help keep the fresh water pump from freezing.

Really works – so be careful!
I gave this 4 stars only because it worked a bit too well for us. Its not the fault of the light bulb, however, which works as intended. Just be aware of what you’re getting and what you need. I needed to heat up day-old chicks in our 13’x17′ kitchen in June, and the kitchen got REALLY HOT in about 20 minutes with this bulb on. I could see this bulb being absolutely perfect for a larger coop in wintertime.But the bulb does exactly what it’s supposed to do. And it looks like it’s made well – not flimsy. If I were looking for a really hot bulb, I’d recommend this brand and bulb – it just didn’t work for our setup (We ended up going with lower wattage red light bulbs.)
