I absolutely 100% recommend this for small dogs
I have a small 8 1/2 pound mini Shih Tzu and this leash works perfect for her. It is hard to find a retractable leash for a small dog that is not too big on them. Usually the clasp is very big and heavy on most retractable leashes. This one is very small and dainty and is perfect for a small dog. I love how small the handle is and that it has two finger holds on it. I would definitely recommend this leash and I will be buying this leash forever more for any small dog that I have.

New design is taking some time to get used to, but tape is excellent and price is worth it
So we just left our old leash behind accidentally last weekend while out of town. It was old anyway… This one caught my eye with it’s unique design and other preferred features like a tape vs a cord. No longer than 10 ft, which is the perfect length for my 13 lb teddy bear. The D-ring is nice to attach a poop bag dispenser or to hold filled ones.The tape is very strong and impressive quality and can turn 360″ without getting twisted or crooked or tangled.All other retractable leashes I have owned have had the common one opening handle to grasp with all fingers and thumb. Having an extra couple fingers would be handy and I always like trying out new designs, inventions, and upgrades or any new gadget and thought the finger holes seem like a simple & smart design. I like the purple color, would normally get pink because my pup is a girly-girl, but purple was the closest to pink that was available. Turns out I really like the purple – and I live in MN where purple is pride for our hometown hero, Prince. And the transparent portion is a fun change too, it’s like some futuristic robot type style -like “the future of retractable leashes!!!” and “now able to reduce the size and weight without compromising funcion with our technical advancements”. lolI have paid triple the price on some name brand one, but I feel with the quality of the tape and tension with smooth extend-retract operation, there is no need to pay a higher price. The finger holes and lock/unlocking switch on top are still awkward to me, the switch on top is not easy to reach with my thumb so I can’t stop it on a dime like other retractables. The button doesn’t appear to be great quality, but it works for now and I am hoping I just need to get used to the different design. The material is comfortable and there is plenty of room for larger fingers.The plastic housing is flimsy compared to the expensive one we lost, but that one has lasted 6yrs and still worked great -just surface scratches but some were right where the hand grip is, which is annoying! I cannot speak to the longevity of this one as it’s currently brand new, but based on the casing alone I don’t see it lasting nearly as long, but it’s definitely worth the listed price at the time of this review is $19.00.

Yes but for small dogs that don’t pull!
Amazon won’t allow me to upload a video. But this works out for my 12lbs terrier mix. He’s not much of a puller. I enjoy having my hands free on our walks & clip this to my crossbody bag on our walks. Yes, it makes some noise when it’s pulled but not unbearably loud & the stopper also masks noise if it’s pulled a certain way. This fits my needs in every way. I would purchase again if I needed too.This product is only ideal for dogs that are small and don’t pull.

As a pet parent to a spirited 7-lb yorkiepoo, I was looking for a light-weight leash that could still handle my dog’s energetic pulling. This retractable leash is designed for small dogs, puppies, and cats.This leah is compact and lightweight: at just 4.3″ and 3.5 oz., this leash is easy to carry. It’s literally smaller than my phone and slips easily into my pocket or bag, making it great for short walks or travels.It has a 360-degree anti-tangling mechanism that thus far lies up to it’s promise. My dog is puller, that seems to far exceed his 7lbs. He also loves to dash here and there, smelling everything from fire hydrants to flowers. So far, this leash hasn’t jammed or tangled. Additionally, the quick-lock and unlock buttons are easy to use and quite effective. I can stop or adjust the leash easily with a quick press of my thumb.This leash is specifically designed for small pets, and given it’s light weight, I’d suggest that it would be far less satisfactory with a larger animal. I also caution all users that while the nylon tape is strong, it’s not able to withstand the teeth of your favorite canine, so keep a handle on any chewing.It’s also of note that instead of gripping the handle with your whole hand, this leash adds to its compact design with its 2-finger holds. This works fine for me, as I have small hands, but the finger holds are a bit tight on my husband’s large fingers. It also fully extends at only 10′, which may work better in a city setting than for a dog that wishes to explore the countryside.Overall I’m very pleased with this retractable leash. It’s especially nice for my little dog who enjoys his intense, but shorter walks around our neighborhood. It’s also remarkably convenient to tuck into your bag or pocket when traveling.
