Works Shockingly Well, Even on a Heavy Shedder!
I bought this during the summer after seeing it go viral and figured it would be another “either it works or it doesn’t” pet tool… kind of like those grooming gloves that claim to make fur roll up magically (they definitely don’t). But this brush actually works in the best way.I used it on my pug, who sheds nonstop and usually hates grooming. Wire brushes? She runs. Nail trims? Forget it. Even touching her feet or nose is a battle. But with this tool she literally comes running over and sits with her back turned, ready for grooming. That alone sells it.As for performance, it pulls out a ton of loose fur from her undercoat. I could probably brush her for hours and still have more coming off, but even brief sessions remove a surprising amount. It doesn’t scrape or irritate her skin, just smoothly lifts out all the loose hair that would normally end up on my floors, clothes, furniture… everywhere.If you have a dog who sheds heavily and hates traditional brushes, this thing is absolutely worth it. Super simple, super effective, and apparently pug-approved.It’s a wood block with a fine took saw blade on it, but don’t be alarmed by the look it works.

The EquiGroomer does a fantastic job, both at getting hair out and making the brushee pass out from feeling so good. Soot loves brush sessions and goes into kitty-coma almost every time.I wish I’d though to take a picture of the hair that came off this cat during the first month we had this brush, but I didn’t. :-/ We had to have collected enough hair to make an entirely new cat… twice over. It was insane.She’s not even done, and it’s been over two months! As you can tell from the pictures, the brush is still pulling shed out like crazy, though this hair amount is at least almost manageable.I actually only came back to this listing today to buy another, which reminded me that I should leave a review. Hope it helps!To add some humor, the first thing I thought when this brush arrived was that “uhh this is a hacksaw blade”. When my husband got home and saw it, he recognized the blade style as one that he literally uses in his saws. Now he jokes that it’s a torture device and that I’m cutting Soot in half. :p[update 2025-04-22we’re still loving the brush, it’s still pulling gobs of shed out, soot’s still going comatose, and i uploaded another picture.]

My dog hates being brushed but sheds like no tomorrow and this is the only working solution right now.Yes it looks like a chunk of wood with a bit of sawblade in it. No, it’s not literally just that.Its incredibly satisfying to use and shocks me how much hair it can dislodge. Doesn’t hurt the dog, the handle shape doesn’t hurt to hold, and it’s small enough that I can throw it in my coat pocket. Only gripe is that I wish it came with a cover for the blade side when not in use, because while it doesn’t hurt the dog or me it’s unpleasant to grab accidentally and/or can get stuck in fuzzy things in the same way burrs do.Lifesaver otherwise, my dog is soft and happy and loves this because its closer to petting than brushing.

Works really well
I saw a similar tool on an instagram reel for 3x the cost. I didn’t expect to find the same for a fraction of the price on amazon, but here we are!I had a black lab/german shepherd mix so you can imagine how horrible his shedding would get. When our groomer retired, I didn’t want to subject him to getting used to another person (he was 11) so we took baths and grooming on ourselves. Because we never trimmed him like she did, he would get little tufts of hair on his legs and butt and this did wonders getting rid of them. He loved getting brushed so there were no complaints anytime we got this out. He could look fresh from the salon and if we used this brush on him, we’d get a walmart bag full of hair. It works so well. Easy to use, very durable, literally no ‘ease of cleaning’ mark because the hair easily fell off into the bag without any help. Brush size was great, initially I thought a little larger would be better but it would’ve been cumbersome at that point.We have a golden shepherd now and his hair is more akin to a straight german shepherd. That being said, both contributing breeds have undercoats but we get next to nothing brushing him with this thing. Not a complaint, just an FYI–both our boys were part shepherd (the more shed-y of both their breeds) and on one hair type we’d clean so much off of him while on this one, next to nothing.

I bought this for my Boxer, and it works great! It removes a lot of loose fur with just a few strokes and is really gentle on his skin. He enjoys being brushed, and I’ve noticed much less hair around the house. Easy to use and very effective.

That picture is just half of the cat being brushed! I have a super senior double coat kitty who is riddled with arthritis and cancer growths. This comb removed boatloads of dead hair. So gentle! I’ve tried the defurminator – which is effective but not gentle. I’ve tried a boar hair brush which is gentle but not effective. Had my doubts my old man would let me give him a combing, but he seemed to really enjoy it – well, until he figured out I was grooming him not just worshipping him with my hands … but for those few minutes I got up enough dead fur to make a new coat for him. Going to work on his other side tonight to get the rest of the dead hair off. Great product – like shockingly great product!
